Creative Dance
Comfortable clothes to move in, nothing too baggy. No Jeans. Girls: pink leather or canvas ballet shoes. (No satin slippers). Pull hair away from face. No Jewelry.
Boys: black leather or canvas ballet shoes
Pre-ballet
Girls: Tights and a leotard (any color), ballet skirts are allowed but no tutus. Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes. (No satin slippers) Pull hair away from face. No Jewelry.
Boys: Comfortable clothes for moving, nothing too baggy. Black leather or canvas ballet shoes.
Ballet/Jazz
See Ballet classes. Jazz pants okay for second half of class. Ballet or jazz shoes. For recital you will need black jazz shoes. Wear hair in a neat bun, if hair is short pull away from face. No jewelry.
Tap (all levels)
Comfortable clothes for moving that don’t cover feet. No Jeans or baggy clothes.
Beg. Tap: Black patent leather tap shoes. Boys: Black lace up tap shoes in leather.
Tap II & III: U-shaped tan leather tap shoes with buckle.
Tap IV: Slip on tap shoes in tan.
These shoes are required for the recital, if you have a different style of tap shoe they are still allowed for class.
All Ballet Classes
Tights and leotard (any color). Non-baggy warm-ups and leg warmers are allowed for the beginning of class. Skirts and dance shorts are allowed (in centre work only), no tutus, t-shirts, tank tops, bras or street shorts allowed. Must have pink split-sole ballet shoes (leather or canvas). Wear hair in a neat bun, if hair is short pull away from face. No jewelry.
Boys: Jazz pants or shorts and t-shirt (not baggy); and black ballet slippers.
Jazz Classes
Dancers can wear jazz pants, leggings, or tights with leotards, tanks or tees. Do not wear baggy clothes, no pajama pants. Wear black jazz shoes (split-soles preferred). Wear hair away from face and off neck. No jewelry.
Boys: Jazz pants or shorts and t-shirt (not baggy); and black jazz shoes.
Modern Classes
Dancers can wear jazz pants, leggings, or tights with leotards, tanks or tees. Do not wear baggy clothes, no pajama pants. Wear hair away from face and off neck. Barefoot or modern sandals.
Hip Hop Classes
Comfortable clothes for moving; no baggy clothes, jeans or street shoes. Black dance sneakers in canvas or leather. Wear hair away from face and off neck. No jewelry.
Note:
Please tuck ties into ballet shoes.
Satin slippers will not be allowed because they are too slippery and do not stay on dancer’s feet.
