Miss Beth’s Profile

My Bio

Miss Beth grew up in Trevor, WI and has lived in Madison for about three years. She attended a pre-professional ballet school in high school and later attended UW-Milwaukee as a dance major. At UWM, she studied ballet, modern, jazz, and African. In addition to learning from her instructors, she was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to learn from many guest instructors including Garth Fagon, Alberto Del Saz, and Timothy O’Donnell as well. When she’s not teaching, Beth works in marketing at Full Compass. She is also company member and choreographer for Madison Contemporary Vision Dance.

Beth feels artistically inspired by many things. The movement that occurs in day to day activities inspires her, her past instructors who encouraged her to push herself everyday inspire her, and her students continuously inspire her with their unique styles and interpretations.

In teaching, Beth believes in teaching her students how to solve problems on their own because she knows that it will eventually lead to their “ah ha” moment. It is for these “ah ha” moments that Beth teaches. She loves watching her students take in her feedback and put the pieces together until it finally clicks. She enjoys helping dancers achieve their short-term and long-term goals and be the best they can be both technically and personally. Watching them grow into the dancers they are is her reward. “What are you waiting for?” (Ed Burgess) is her teaching philosophy because she believes that the only thing that holds a person back is themselves. She encourages her students to try everything with full effort and to believe in themselves.

Fun fact: She played Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, and Taz at Six Flags in high school.
